About Us – Tillamook Pilots Association

Our Approach

We have two runways with 4 approaches! , but with that said. The TPA is an open organization for anyone interested in flying. We work with other organizations whenever we can to promote flying.

Some examples are: “Friends of Pacific City”, The Port of Tillamook, They manage the airport. The OPA (Oregon Pilots Association), NASA-NearSpace They are on the field, Tillamook Air Museum, and others like AOPA, FAA, Civil Air Patrol-CAP and more! If your organization wants to get involved and co-host an event or get exposure on our site please reach out to us and we will see if and how we can make that happen.

Our Story

The Tillamook Pilots Association was originally created out of the sheriff’s dept air posse. (I will add more details once I gather more historical facts) The TPA was officially formed on Dec. 7th, 1993. Today we are stationed at KTMK and are an Oregon Non-profit organization. But the articles state the purpose of our association is:

Provide search and rescue operations to the residents of Oregon.
Promote aviation activity and involvement in Tillamook county.
Promote Aviation with the non-flying public.
Provide a social forum for pilots.
Promote improvement and construction of aviation facilities in Tillamook county.
Protect and encourage safe flying.
Provide assistance to the Oregon state aeronautics division.
Do all things allowed by Oregon law for non-profit corporations.
